Abaco Bahamas Update
Many Abaco homeowners are still in town, enjoying the end of a great summer. The hurricane season has spared us so far but with our superior building code, easy access to supplies, up-to-date communications network and great community spirit, we are in a favourable position to withstand any threat.
TowBoatU.S., the largest on-the-water towing service for the recreational boaters in the United States, now has two locations in The Bahamas offering boat towing service. The two operations, TowBoatU.S. Marsh Harbour and TowBoatU.S. West End on Grand Bahama, are the first full-time, 24-hour-a-day service in The Bahamas. The company boat can be identified by its distinctive red hull white bow stripes and TowBoatU.S. lettering along the sides. The boat is equipped to handle every breakdown from running out of fuel to running aground. Contact us at www.AbacoAgent.com and we will send you the complete contact numbers of the company.
During the Abaco low season, several our our better-known restaurants temporarily close for re-furbishment. Mangoes and the Jib Room closed on 15 August; Wally's, last weekend; and Curly Tails will be closing this week. Sapodilly's is due to re-open mid-September and the others will be opening between late October and early November. Our very favourite Saturday lunch spot, The Sand Bar at Cherokee Sound
The fourth annual "Sail Away" on the north end of Guana Cay attracted many local boaters. Friends gathered from several communities to enjoy Sunday afternoon on the beach. Food and drinks were sold to raise money for the Abaco Rage and the Every Child Counts School.
Stay tuned to this blog for up-dates on what is expected to be a very successful Country Music Festival to benefit the Abaco Wild Horses. Someone who owns a waterfront home on Abaco is going to be performing. We'll be giving you some more clues as to his identity. See if you can guess it first! Sandra Evans Real Estate Sales is proud to be a sponsor of this annual event.
